Victory Good over Evil!

The core message of the notable Indian festival is “Dussehra.”

What does that mean, and how does it relate to today’s world and

When will there be a ‘real’ victory of good over evil?

Stories go – Lord Ram killed Ravana, who had ten heads, because Ravana had made the mistake of abducting Sita, Lord Ram’s wife.

Let’s put this in corporate world settings; who is the actual Ravana? Is it someone who is sabotaging your success or hindering your growth, or taking away your mental peace?

Who are these ten heads which are evil?

Your manager, your colleague, your boss, your friends, your partner, I don’t know.

But it is said that in today’s world, all these 10 evil heads are actually residing in our own heads, and we are a victim of the evil that resides within us.

Well, if that is true, how will the good win over it?

Positivity?

Love?

Prohibitions on child labor?

Gender Equality?

Food and drug safety?

Worker’s rights?

LGBTQ rights?

Equal Opportunities?

Well, my humble thinking is that goodwill only wins over evil if we take the simplest teaching from Taoism (which is an ancient Chinese philosophy and religion that instructs believers on how to exist in harmony with the universe. )

Quote: I have just 3 simple things to teach:

Simplicity, Patience, and Compassion

Simple in action and in thoughts, you return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are.

With compassion towards yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.

Tao Te Ching – the book I just got to listen to today morning at 4:30 am on my walk with my peaceful mind and found the answer to the above festival, which falls today.

What a great circle the day has been for me.

Wish the same for all of you.
