Stickesr my daughters innocently peeled off a wall in Lisbon
Ended up sparking a deep moment of reflection in my sketch journal.
They were just collecting souvenirs.
But I paused—and translated.
“Portugal needs a new April.”
This wasn’t just a slogan. It was a metaphor.
A quiet call to reignite the revolutionary spirit that once transformed the nation.
A call for justice, for equality, for hope in the face of today’s social, political, and economic complexities.
When I translated “POISÉ” on another sticker, it felt poetic.
Balanced. Composed. Intentional.
These small, seemingly random moments –
scraps of paper, stickers from the street –
held layers of historical weight I would’ve otherwise missed.
And it reminded me:
There is still so much more in life to explore.
But only if we stop long enough to translate, reflect, and feel.
Have you ever stumbled on something small that opened up a bigger meaning?
