Got up to a reflecting Sunday morning on the basic fundamental teachings of our gurus, whoever is that for you.

Today is our 10th Guru’s birthday – Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708 C.E.); his teaching, even after 300 years, is still so relevant.

Work hard and don’t be lazy.

* Kum karan vich daridar nahee karnaa

Do not ruin anyone’s work by gossiping.

*Chugalee kar kisae da kam nahee vigaarnaa

Do as much possible to serve and aid foreigners, those in need, or in trouble

* Pardaesee, lorvaan, dukhee, apung manukh dee yataahshkat seva karnee

Not just our 10th Guru, I had an opportunity to read The Tao Te Ching, which was written in the 6th Century BC and is so relevant in the modern world, and I am sure there are many such scripts which you would be exposed to.
